Mi Rancho Market is a straightforward taco spot that feels like a small but lively corner of Escondido’s local food scene. Located on W Mission Ave near the Lowe’s parking lot, it combines the convenience of quick bites with the authentic vibe of a neighborhood taco shop. The setup includes a market with booths and high top tables that encourage casual, no-fuss dining—perfect for diners who want a solid meal without any pretense.

The draw here is clearly the tacos, especially the al pastor, which locals appreciate for its depth of flavor, and the carne asada fries that have quickly developed a small following for those looking for something a bit heavier. On Taco Tuesdays, prices drop notably, making it a popular weekday stop for affordable, satisfying eats after work or during lunch breaks. The variety on offer extends beyond tacos into huaraches, different mulita styles, and homestyle soups like menudo and birria de chivo, reflecting a menu that respects traditional Mexican street food with hearty, robust options.

While the space isn’t large, the newer location has improved parking and overall comfort, making the experience more approachable than some older, cramped taco stands. The kitchen seems well-staffed and efficient, keeping wait times short even during busier evenings. Complementing the food are fresh, house-made salsas and classic touches like imported Coca-Cola, which add subtle authenticity to the meal.

This is a place that suits diners who prioritize straightforward, flavorful Mexican fast food in a relaxed, unpolished environment. It tends to draw in regulars who come for those weekday taco deals or weekend cravings for rich broth-based dishes. The best time to visit is likely early evening during Taco Tuesday or weekend lunch hours when the full menu is in play and the atmosphere buzzes with a steady flow of locals grabbing a reliable taste of home cooking.

$1 al pastor Taco Tuesday deal. Can’t beat it. $1.99 for list others. Carnitas was my fave and good carne asada. Definitely recommend. Shared parking lot in the back and booths and high tops dining among the market.

This spot is the real deal. Best Huarache de Pastor I've tasted north of the border!! The birria trio is also mouth watering good, and the taco salad if you're feeling something lean! Tuesday is a great time to come as well, all the meats are tasty and it feels rightfully nostalgic paying roughly 1.50 for tacos. Love this spot!

Tacos are good. tried asada, pastor, lengua id say pastor has the most flavor in its meat. Lengua lacks some flavor. The huarache was delicious with asada great portion.

Don’t know when they moved, but the new location is much bigger and convenient! Across the street from Lowe’s with a large parking lot! Definitely a huge upgrade than the previous location! Had a late craving for their Taco Tuesday and they never disappoint! Amazing salsas and radishes to pair with the tacos as well! 10/10 recommend if you’ve never been! Their carne asada fries is also my guiltiest of pleasure.

Drove out here because it topped a list of best tacos in San Diego and I’m glad to report that the food is indeed amazing. I ended up going with the “Birria de res con chiva” and it was delicious. Tender meat, aromatic and body warming soup with a kick of spice. It’s a small, local shop that is well-staffed, clean, comfortable, and full of good food.

I love their tacos and chivo soup so much that I taught myself Spanish. I really appreciate that they keep your culture and the food authentic. They not only offer the common beef, pork, chicken tacos but also beef stomache, beef tonge and fish. I love them so much. High recommend! 实在太好吃了,牛舌牛胃山羊汤都超级好吃!

We loved Mi Rancho Market. A Taqueria with a meat market inside serving deeellicious tacos. We ordered up the barbacoa, asada and al pastor which was our favorite. Definitely don't sleep on the Hot Hot hot salsa.

Wasn't planning on coming here originally but found this place on Google maps. Immediately walking inside I noticed the cleanliness and the simple layout of the Market. The cashier was very nice along with the crew in the kitchen. I ordered a asada burrito with 3 birria tacos. Waiting for the food, I appreciated the organized placement of goods for sale and the location of the kitchen and seating area. The food was great and the service was professional. Will be back. 5 out of 5.
